AdBreak User Guide

What is AdBreak?

AdBreak is a Chrome extension that gives you something interactive to do while a YouTube advertisement is playing. Instead of simply waiting for the ad to finish, you can use AdBreak's activities to make the wait more interesting.

Important: AdBreak does not remove, block, skip, or modify YouTube advertisements. It runs alongside the advertisement and closes when the ad ends and your video resumes.

Getting Started

Install AdBreak from the Chrome Web Store.
Open YouTube and play a video.
When an advertisement is detected, AdBreak can automatically display an activity if Automatic Mode is enabled.
You can also open AdBreak manually using the AdBreak button.
Complete the activity while the advertisement is playing.
When the advertisement ends, AdBreak closes and your video can continue normally.

Automatic Mode

Automatic Mode allows AdBreak to detect when a YouTube advertisement is playing and display an activity automatically. This is the easiest way to use AdBreak because you do not have to open the extension each time an ad begins.

Manual Mode

Manual Mode lets you open AdBreak whenever you want using the AdBreak button. This is useful when you want to choose when an activity appears rather than having it appear automatically.

Premium Modes

AdBreak Premium is an optional subscription that unlocks the interactive modes below:

Riddle Mode: Solve short riddles while you wait.
Would You Rather Mode: Choose between two quick and entertaining options.
Reaction Test Mode: Test how quickly you can react.

How to Get Premium

Open AdBreak and choose the Premium option.
Continue to the secure Stripe Checkout page.
Complete the $2.99/month Premium subscription.
After payment, Stripe provides a Checkout Session identifier on the success page.
Copy the activation code.
Return to AdBreak and paste the code into the Premium activation field.
Activate Premium.

Keep your activation code: Your activation code is used to verify your Premium subscription. If you reinstall or move to another computer, you may need the code again to activate Premium there.

Premium Subscription

AdBreak Premium costs $2.99 per month. Premium access depends on an active subscription. If the subscription is canceled or otherwise becomes inactive, Premium access may no longer be available.

Tips

Keep AdBreak enabled if you want Automatic Mode to detect advertisements.
Use Manual Mode when you want to start an activity yourself.
If Premium activation does not work, make sure you copied the complete activation code.
